Section: Responsibilities / Duties

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

These jobs are found in Country Offices (COs), Regional Bureaux (RBs), and Headquarters (HQ). Job holders performing front office management functions typically report to the Deputy Directors or Head of Offices. In cases where these positions support a specific business stream, the reporting line may be to the Head of Unit, Chief, or the designate. At this level job holders are expected to take responsibility for completion of a range of business support activities requiring some interpretation of standard guidelines/practices. Job holders are able to recommend a course of action to staff at various levels and may allocate tasks to more junior colleagues.

JOB PURPOSE

To deliver a wide range of business support processes and activities for a specific professional area of work, to facilitate effective service delivery.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
  1. Support various partnership initiatives and WFP projects with different government counterparts.
  2. Provide the needed assistance in initiating and enhancing partnership relationships with governmental entities.
  3. Track and collate data to support in developing new strategies to maintain and increase government’s relations in collaboration with other WFP units.
  4. Support the development of Memorandum of understanding and agreements and other agreements with governmental partners.
  5. Support the new initiatives in all the phases: exploration, the proposal writing, activities planning, and implementation process.
  6. Assist in the development of updated contacts database of the focal points from different Government authorities.
  7. Collects, assesses, and analyses information related to the new projects because of providing background and complementary information for future project proposals.
  8. Assist in the organization of meetings, workshops, missions, and training activities.
  9. Work in collaboration with other WFP units to ensure the flow of accurate and updated data and information.
  10. Provide administrative support, ensure all needs of the activities are met in line with the approved work plan, as well as WFP rules and regulations.
  11. Performs other duties (such as general correspondence, attendance at meetings, minutes of meetings, reports, follow-up, etc.) as required

Section: Requirements: Education / Experience / Languages / other requirements:

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: University degree in Engineering or Computer Science, with relevant certifications in information technology.

Experience:At least 4 years of relevant work experience, including support to the management of IT platforms, telecommunications facilities, and knowledge of Windows-based applications

LanguagesExcellent spoken and written English and Arabic.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
  • Proven experience and technical ability to work on IT projects.
  • Effective communication (spoken, written and presentational)
  • Ability to work in a team.
  •  Knowledge of specialized common business practices and methods, gained through relevant technical training and experience.
  •  Ability to develop and maintain relationships with a range of individuals in order to provide a high quality support service.
  • Ability to carry out basic data analysis and independently rectify problems requiring attention.
  •  Ability to monitor and record financial transactions.
  •  Good communication skills required to give and receive information and work with a variety of individuals.  Ability to maintain confidentiality
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
THIS IS A ONE YEAR CONTRACT, EXTENSION WILL BE BASED ON SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE AND FUND AVAILABILITY
