3 Year post (2 Year Fixed Term contract with 1 year renewable option) / Internal and External Candidates / Due to terms of British Council protocol, post only open to UK or Egyptian nationals. There are age restrictions to candidates who are over or close to 60 years of age when applying / Closing date for applications: 07 November 2016 / Anticipated contract start date: December 2016
British Council Egypt is recruiting Deputy Country Exams Manager (School Exams) to lead a team that serves UK Awarding Bodies by providing the highest quality operational management of exams materials, exams arrangements and exam venues / equipment, maintain sustainability of operations through excellent relationships and shared objectives with individual attached schools, continually identifying and responding to their needs, ensure the best possible experience for candidates and stakeholders before, during and after their examinations, ensure all operations processes working with corporate compliance standards, including confidential material management, venue selection, test-day procedures, HR requirements and financial procedures.

Main Duties:

Lead on relationships with:
•Schools – implementing client relationship management plan for individual attached schools, including visits by Exams Managers and Officers, collecting and responding to feedback in order to continually enhance the quality and standard of the British Council’s services
•Ministry of Education & Supreme Council of Higher Education
•UK awarding bodies
•Other key stakeholders
Oversee operational arrangements which include:
•School exams registration and payment systems
•Processing of all School Exams Candidates in Egypt into allotted Exam Rooms and the production and communication of all timetables
•School exam day activity across Egypt, including all venue inspections, venue quality related issues and the handling and reporting of incidents
•Post Exams Activity for School Exams in Egypt, including the processing and issuing of results and the Enquiry on Results (EAR) process
•In line with global and regional initiatives, identifying and implementing new approaches that enhance operational efficiency and the quality of the service that we provide to our customers
•Ensuring that exams operations are compliant with British Council operating policies in areas such as procurement, contract management, child protection, equality, diversity and inclusion, information management, and data protection, and with all relevant local legislation
Line management and team leadership:
•Lead, motivate and empower a team that is fully aligned with British Council values and behaviours, and works towards the achievement of shared targets and objectives.
•Ensure that the work-life balance of staff is given a high priority, and that adequate procedures are in place in order to manage it effectively.
•Coach and develop colleagues
•Oversee efficient and effective management of costs, resources and staff time
•Ensure that team structure, role profiles and skills are aligned with business needs
General management:
•Contribute to Business Development through market intelligence and support to promotions
•Be financial and administrative signatory as per delegated authorities
•Deputise for Country Exams Manager where/when needed
•Participate in related projects initiated by the office management team
•Contribute to all areas of exams team work, including customer service, marketing, and test centre inspections
•Ensure budgets are monitored and reported on according to the agreed timetable

Post holder must have University degree or equivalent, proven experience in motivating and developing a team, Collecting & analysing client/stakeholder feedback and identifying needs and/or barriers to service delivery enhancement, contributing to their resolution, Identifying ways in which services can be improved, and taking these forward, Knowledge sharing and lessons learned reviews
